Artist: Raquel Awerkamp Title: A Mothers Love Material: Oil on Canvas About the artwork: The day I came up with the sketch for this painting I had just found out I miscarried. This was heart breaking news but my husband and I were able to cope with it extremely well because of the promptings I had received the days leading up to our first appointment. Heavenly Father communicates with me through my feelings and I have learned to trust them. The quote I have included in this paintings speaks volumes to me as I look at my little girl and feel the overwhelming love I have for her. Elder Holland has said, "No love in mortality comes closer to approximating the pure love of Jesus Christ than the selfless love a devoted mother has for her children." We want to expand our family and so look forward to the day our little girl can play with her siblings but we will trust the Lords timing and know that He wants it for us just as much for us as we do, if not more.
