Artist Statement: I drew inspiration for this painting while exploring Acadia National Park along the coast of Maine on a rainy, overcast day. Drawing on this experience in my studio, I worked in acrylic paint to capture the moody shoreline while infusing unexpected color into my work.
Artist Bio: Kristen Preble strives to create expressive art that represents her subjects through layers of color and mark making. She especially loves infusing paintings with colors that draw the eye and convey a feeling of energy and to explore color combinations in a new and interesting way. A retired veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, she has had the opportunity to source inspiration from all over the country and currently resides in Boston, MA.
