About the Artwork: Allegiance addressed the intersection of recent gun violence/mass shootings and the white supremacist systems upon which the United States was built and survives. It grows like a cancer feeding off and supporting the false narratives and toxic theologies of white and American exceptionalism, evangelicalism, and restoration/dispensation doctrine. Until white America faces these specters, this constant loss of life will be more of the same.
About the Artist: Charlotte Condie is an artist and illustrator in Atlanta, GA. Her work deals with revolution, collectivism, and social justice through symbols, sarcasm, and fiction.
