Artist Statement: My “Flower Girl” paintings were born of my thoughts about eternity. I don’t know what will happen to our consciousness after we die, but our bodies will go back to Mother Earth and break back down into our smaller elements so that she can build us into many new and beautiful things. I think it’s a lovely thought that we will become flowers.
Artist Bio: Berkeley lives in Austin, Texas where she paints, plays acoustic music with her sister and niece, and takes care of her dogs. She gathers many ideas for paintings from song lyrics and poems and transforms them into bright, whimsical images to tell the stories in a visual way.
