Artist Statement: I find healing in nature. The flora, fauna, colors, light, space, and abundance of life are revitalizing and serve as a balm to my soul. I also find aesthetic pleasure in the jagged determination of dead trees to be part of the scene. Trees experience damage from fire, hurricane, disease, mankind, and more. They are a poignant metaphor for what humans experience, too. The trees show us that despite our damaging experiences, we belong as a meaningful part of the whole.
