Artist Statements:
Oklahoma Prairie: Inspired by a recent road trip through rural Oklahoma. The amazing prairie and Cloud formations are awe inspiring.
Yellowstone River: The Yellowstone landscape is etched in my memory since I was a child. My parents first took me there from the east coast in 1975, and it was otherworldly to me and I will never forget that experience.
New Mexico Sagebrush: A recent road trip through New Mexico always inspires. The beauty of the rock formations, the sagebrush and arid landscape.
Valley of Fire Nevada: Valley of Fire in Nevada outside Las Vegas is just an amazing landscape. The heat of the summer is so intense there and so is the colors of the landscape. It's one of my favorite State Parks to visit.
Colorado Mountains: This piece is a bit more imaginary than the others. Mostly playing with shape, form and color. A recent road trip through the mountain passes of Colorado definitely inspired this piece.
Southern Utah: My favorite landscapes are in Utah. I remember fondly looking out the window as a kid driving through Arches National Park in the 1970s. Being from New York I was fascinated with this new found landscape and continue to be to this day. Just an amazing place.
