Evening Commute- There’s something romantic about driving home in the rain. The thought that each of us is headed somewhere—toward someone—a partner, a cat, a child, a warm cup of tea. We’re all moving toward something that gives us comfort. For a brief moment, we all share the same hope and anticipation, bound together by the quiet longing for what awaits us.
Precious Cargo- On a rainy Tuesday, I place a brand new baby in the car and drive the six minutes home from the hospital. I glance out the window and wonder, "Do they know? Can everyone tell that inside this car, my life is changing completely?" I hope they drive a little slower, signal a little sooner, and always ease up at the yellow light.
