Artist Statement: I believe God is continually offering us magnificent gifts. However, it is up to us to receive them. On my birthday this year, I was driving through Salem on my way home from work when I passed a herd of cows backlit by a blazing sunset. As I drove past, I felt the spirit whisper that those cows were a gift for me. I pulled a screechy u-turn and sure enough, these majestic angus beauties seemed to be posed just for me. My eyes welled with tears of gratitude as I stood in awe of God’s grace. This painting serves as a reminder to keep our eyes and hearts open to receive God’s bountiful gifts.
