Artist Biography: Laura was born in Oakland, California and currently lives and works in Salt Lake City, Utah. She received her BFA from Brigham Young University in drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture, as well as her MAT from George Mason University. Her printmaking and sculpture background heavily influence her current body of work. Using found objects and plants in her process, her paintings are rich in texture, leaving behind color and fragments of material from the actual objects and plants themselves. Laura's work has been exhibited in Maryland, Virginia, Utah, New York City, and in the Smithsonian in Washington D.C..
