Artist Statement: The Savior is represented by The Lion, who is strong and a fierce protector. He is our advocate. He is powerful and brave. The Lion of the Tribe of Judah is also called The Bright and Morning Star. He is a beacon of goodness and strength. He is the vine from which we can grow in goodness. In the corners are horns that represent the horns on the altar in the Tabernacle that were smeared with blood during a sacrifice where people could hold on and be forgiven. This represents The Atonement. The grape vines are also a nod to wine and therefore the first Sacrament. The mane of the lion is fiery - representing Baptism by Fire.
