Artist Statement: Delicate Arch is such an iconic landscape/image. We see it on license plates, painted and drawn in every medium imagined, on billboards, restaurants, and vans. However, when hiking to see this "monument", I still found myself standing in awe of the beauty that a natural rock arch is. I walked all around it and took reference photos at different angles, trying to capture the feeling of truly being there. I hope these paintings allow you to survey the arch from a different perspective, and perhaps encourage you to see the nature around you from a different viewpoint as well.
Artist Bio: Sarah McDonald is a self-taught artist that grew up in the middle of Wyoming. She began painting regularly 3 years ago, and finds that landscape paintings are only enjoyable if she's been to the location and thoroughly enjoyed herself in the nature first. Hiking, climbing, frolicking, hammocking, sunbathing, you name it. Each of her paintings hold a specific memory and by painting it, she attempts to pass that memory on to the viewers.
