Artist Statement: Prometheus was chained to a rock by Zeus as punishment for giving fire to humankind, until he was freed by the hero Heracles. The single line that suggests his form represents the connection formed between captive and liberator.
Artist Bio: Michael Lowry is an oil painter, geologist, outdoorsman and father, and works in software as a product manager. He has studied art off and on throughout his life, but only began oil painting in earnest in the last few years.
