Artist Statement: Discovering their nakedness, Eve and Adam quickly fabricated coverings from fig leaves. Though resourceful, would the leaves prove to be sufficiently durable and protective in the harsh world? Thankfully, God had a different plan prepared. The Lamb of God would offer the first animal sacrifice to provide a warm shelter of animal skins for our first parents. These skins were to be a physical symbol of the infinite covering Christ would sacrifice himself to provide. Our parents had the opportunity to choose which covering to wear, and ultimately, their fig leaves fell away.
