About the artwork: I have a daughter getting married, a son on a mission, and a daughter going to college in 2022. I will officially be a new empty-nester! Oh, the possibilities! This will be a new chapter, a new beginning! To grow as a professional artist, to continue my studies as a cellist, and to learn how to play the electric bass guitar so that I can play classic rock music with my husband (as he fulfills a dream of his to learn to play the electric guitar)! So flippin’ excited!! And to enjoy watching our family expand and grow; what a joy. I see this new phase as an opportunity to play and do art with children and grandchildren. After so many years of intense effort to raise children and create a happy family culture; I can feel things shift to where my little birds are ready to fly and leave the nest and don’t need me as much. I’m excited to create new ways for our family to connect and cultivate love and connection. Oh, the possibilities!
About the artist: I enjoy the process of creating a piece of art whether it be a drawing, an oil or acrylic painting, a sculpture, etc. It’s the challenge of holding a space for faith in myself, in the process, and in the inspiration/vision that gets me excited to do the work. Sometimes it’s really hard to navigate the ups and downs. But each experience gives me the opportunity to learn and grow and build my body of work and style. Worth every effort. And then my favorite thing is to share my art with others.
