About the Artwork:
As a woman, I find it hard to embrace my own femininity. Especially in a world where I am constantly bombarded with imagery describing the ideal women. This Piece is my own take on the Birth of Venus by Bouguereau, detailed with delftware designs that you would often find in a housewife’s china hutch. I portray Venus the Goddess of love in a more modern fashion. She often symbolizes feminine beauty though I want my viewers to see the strength that can come from Venus, our Eternal Mother, and the women in each of our lives. Let us never forget the true meaning of Femininity.
