Blessed are children who have a father who stops his work to play with his children. We had such a father, and I treasure the memories of his large calloused hands, his laugh, and his love for us while we played in the barn on the hay.
Artist Bio:
I paint stories. I paint dreams and memories. My process often begins with an application of a colorful underpainting. As it dries I contemplate the story that is waiting to emerge. I am inspired by the influences growing up in Southern Colorado and being around the Latino culture—and now living in Southern Utah in this burgeoning art community. I am inspired by the lands of my ancestors, the British Isles and Scandinavia, exotic and artistic clothing, quilts, herbs in pots and people and places. I paint to celebrate the aspirations, struggles and visions of the future. All these are my muses and shape my artistic vision.
