About the artwork: New beginnings at this stage of my life often involve leaving behind old methods, philosophies, or practices. This happens both privately and publicly and as a result can bring feeling of great anxiety along with great renewal. Its a process of finishing one part of a journey and beginning another. I wanted to capture that idea in a simple drawing, as one of my artist goals for this year is to allow for greater personal expression through simplified drawings.
About the artist: David Habben is an artist, illustrator, and educator based in Utah, USA. His work has received awards from the Society of Illustrators, 3x3 Magazine, Graphis, Communication Arts, Creative Quarterly and the AIGA. He is also an Asst. Prof. of Illustration at Brigham Young University.
