Artist: Deb Wood
Title: Leaving
Medium: Collage on paper (watercolor, color pencils, copy of original painting, original photography)
Dimensions: 12 X 12 inches
Price: $250
About the Artwork:
This collaged self portrait explores both the pain and hope inherent in leaving anything, but in this case specifically the LDS Faith---the black cutouts are fashioned after windows in one of the LDS temples, a nod to a beautiful but marred past, while the poppy represents the blooming of hope within. The layers created with both of these items cast shadows, a poignant reminder that all things carry both light and dark.
