In mortality, we begin in darkness. As we grow and learn our minds and souls are illuminated. As humans we have the choice to lean into that illumination and continue seeking knowledge and truth. Allowing the world, through study and experience, to make us better.
Or we can choose to hide in darkness. There is beauty in both, but truth is easier to feel and understand in the light.
About the Artist:
Kate Ryskamp. I create art so I can feel, process, and discover my emotions and beliefs. Pain is a large factor in my daily life and painting has healed my grief at losing the life I had before.
