The 10-fold design has the same symmetry as the seed arrangement hidden within an apple; the dance of the planet Venus as it dances in the heavens above the Earth; and the human DNA molecule which is the architecture of life itself. Within its fractal complexity is the “golden ratio,” a harmonious and infinitely generative proportion known for its fractal complexity. This particular composition is inspired by a design found crowning a dome in Istanbul.

Artist Bio: Lisa DeLong holds a PhD in Traditional Arts from the King’s Foundation School of Traditional Arts, where her research focused on principles of geometric composition common to the Islamic and Western traditions.
