Artist Statement: The title is a line taken from “To The Butterfly” by William Wordsworth. "Float near me. Do not yet depart." It's a feeling we've all had when witnessing anything inspiring or beautiful that feels fleeting. Painting in the abstract can often feel like beauty has passed through you and onto canvas, and if you try to chase it it can float away. It's best to let it come to you.
Artist Bio: Loralee J. Nicolay is a lifelong artist whose work is driven by a love of color, creativity, and self-expression. Working in a variety of mediums, she creates abstract expressionist paintings, portraits, landscapes, florals, and other subjects that inspire her imagination.
Her Bachelor's degree in Interior Design influences her understanding of color relationships, balance, and spatial composition, bringing depth and harmony to her work.
