Artist Statement: The Bible tells a story of a woman from Shunem (2 Kings 4). As the story goes, she recognized Elisha to be a man of God. She also noticed his needs, and would make him bread whenever he passed by her city. She even prepared a small room in her home where he could rest from his travels. It was a quiet act of love that asked for no recognition or gift in return. This story reminds me of many women I know who notice and fill needs without being asked. I’ve been on the receiving end of this kindness countless times. I believe this intuitive service and love is one of women’s superpowers.
