About the Artwork:
As dawn breaks, and the cool blueish light of a winter's day streams steadily through the window - begging to be met by warm mouths drinking in each other, eyes glazed and closed - murmurs rise from beneath blankets, saying something about surrender. Something about tea later. Something about love, and there is dancing between bodies. And there is laughing - the kind that chirps and squeals with pleasure - and the sweetness of a slow grand rising soaks the air.
About the Artist:
Vita Rice is a Utah based fine artist specializing in abstract expressionism and contemporary environmental impressionism, creating vivid and intriguing mixed media artworks that are meant to evoke a sense of liveliness, expansion, and serenity in the viewership. Vita draws endless inspiration from the minute details of nature, from her philosophical conceptualizations of energetics, and her emotional and spiritual journey as an individual and member of a collective. Inextricably woven into her artwork is Vita's desire to create something that can be explored for hours, over and over again. Vita strongly believes that getting sucked into a highly detailed piece of artwork can be a deeply meditative experience, where the present moment and the visual senses are all that exist in the narrowed space of exploration. It has been said that Vita's work has an essence of visually begging a question - asking the audience to go deeper within themselves to find out exactly what that question is asking.
