About the artwork: Sunrises always say new beginnings to me. This one was inspired by a morning sunrise on the coastal marshes of the southeast inspired by frequent trips there. I thought this piece fit well the the "A New Page Theme" as it signifies new beginnings.
About the artist: Justin Holdren is a mixed media painter based in central North Carolina. He captures the beauty of life on canvas in oil and acrylic paintings as well as his mixed media drawings.
Justin is best known for his contemporary landscapes inspired by nature and by his frequent travels and he is never without his sketchbook so he can capture moments that inspire him. He also enjoys capturing the beauty found in his everyday life which could be a landscape, still life, people, or simply an abstract piece inspired by colors he finds beautiful.
Justin’s work is represented by several galleries in the Southeast and his work can be found in private collections across the country.
Justin says, “My primary goal in my work is to capture the beauty of life and make people slow down and see the beauty in things we often take for granted. If I can capture that beauty through art, and create beautiful, calming images that provide an escape and bring joy, then I’ve done my job. I hope people enjoy viewing my work as much as I enjoy creating it.”
