Artist Statement: I walked past this house while trick-or-treating with my niece and nephews in upstate New York. The lighting and shadows of the scene captured the essence of that evening... somewhere between cozy and spooky.
Artist Bio: Tara McClung is an artist and teacher residing in Pompey, NY. She received her BFA in Art Education and Illustration from Syracuse University in 1996 and her MA in Graphics from SUNY Oswego in 2001. Tara works primarily in acrylics and watercolor and is currently experimenting with gouache and oil paint. She paints animals, scenes from nature, and places that evoke memories and emotions. She finds inspiration in the outdoors, in her many gardens, and from the animals that visit the meadows and woods around her home. Tara has been an art teacher in the North Syracuse Central School District since 1997 and has practiced art since childhood.
