About the Artist: Michelle Nixon is a signature member of the National Watercolor Society, the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies, and the Utah Watercolor Society. Her work has been in national and international juried shows and last year she received the top award for the National Watercolor Society’s 102nd International Open. Her work has been in the Springville Museum of Art, the Covey Center for the Arts, Utah Museum’s “Expanding Horizon’s Exhibition,” and Springfield Museum’s ‘Watercolor USA,’ among others. She participates in plein air events around Utah and has received best of show in Logan, Sweetwater County, and Midway. She has been featured in Watercolor Artist Magazine, and enjoys living and painting in Cache Valley Utah.
About the Artwork: This piece is on University Avenue looking south toward Center Street in Provo, Utah in the morning light after the sun is just out warming the buildings in oranges and yellows and casting cool shadows. Pedestrians are crossing as the morning commuters are paused. The Knight Block Building is visible.
