About the Artwork: At first glance, this painting isn't necessarily about "A New Page" but it is for me. I literally cut up an older painting and used a piece of it to create this piece. I sanded down the existing art and repainted it. That practice isn't new, but the painting I destroyed had significance to me, and the act of recycling it represented a big mindset shift. It was liberating to let go of the older work, and to then paint an idea I've had for a long time.
About the Artist: Loralee Nicolay is a fine artist who loves bold, bright colors and experimenting with different styles. Her work ranges from abstract expressionism to landscape and botanicals, to portraiture.
