About the artwork: There has never been a piece that has frustrated me as much as this one. The amount of times I had to take soap and water to it, sand it down, scrub it down, and start from scratch was embarrassing. I was frustrated with myself, and wanted to give up. But I stuck with it and finally achieved what I wanted.
The layers and layers of this piece represent a lot of patience and hard work. They also represent the prayers that were sent up asking for help. It was through this painting that I learned that not all great things can be rushed, and that sometimes you have to take it one stroke at a time.
