Artist Statement: I find water the perfect metaphor for inspiration. Have you ever tried to grab it? or will it by force? It runs its own course. Often spiritual promptings, impressions, revelation — whatever you want to call them are received like a stream of water. If we are not prepared to receive we miss it as it runs off of us all the while as we desperately try to hold on to it. Like a dream that we can't quite remember often messages evaporate from our memory as we struggle to hold on to them. Even when we are prepared often the inspiration is more than we have room to receive at the time.
Artist Bio: I discovered early on that I had a talent for art and I have gravitated toward it ever since. I love the beauty in nature and strive to capture that in my paintings. Part contemporary impressionist, part realist I endeavor to convey what a tightly rendered picture or photograph can't. Keeping my palette simple and relying on my ability to see the nuances of color & light I describe the world with paint. Through my paintings I hope to convey my perception of the world and hopefully a suggestion of things that can only be felt. Transcending fleeting moments in the world around us and transforming them into something permanent, my hope is that my audience will feel some of what I have felt.
