About the Artwork:
When I was 19 years old, this was the first Gothic building I ever experienced—and the first cathedral threshold I ever crossed. The experience was stirring. I can still close my eyes and see the red of Bourges stained glass. Inside Cathédrale Saint-Étienne de Bourges the word of God is spoken in two tongues: the height, and the light.
