Artist Statement: Kristin Gibby is a representational realism artist using collections from nature to create still-life oil paintings. Monarch butterflies, cicadas, and assassin bugs punctuate simple scenes of earthy flora. Her current body of work features plants and insects with neutral backgrounds and prominent shadows.
