So many good memories that had been made there were flashing through my mind. As I was grieving my four year relationship the only thing I could bring myself to do was paint. Using myself as a reference, I captured one of the most vulnerable moments of my life. The painting stayed in a bag and went through the ringer with me as I moved four times in the last year. I couldn’t bring myself to “finish” it because I will never reach that place again, emotionally or physically. Thank God. At the end of a relationship there is so much left undone, children that will never be born, vacations that will never be taken, and dreams that will never come to fruition. I have accepted that chapter is over and finally “tied up the loose ends” by adding the black edges. It feels finished now. While this business may have failed, a new one takes hold and I get to begin again.
