Artist Statement:
Traditional folk art souvenirs in Mexico, an alebrije is usually a wood carving sanded down to a porcelain like finish then painted with wild and colorful designs. This alebrije is of my own little dog. The dog alebrije is a symbol of protection and loyalty.
