Remember the Ladies: Utah Women in Art 2026

The 2026 theme of the JKR Gallery's annual Utah Women in Art Show, Remember the Ladies, references a letter written by Abigail Adams to her husband John in early spring 1776 when he and other members of the Continental Congress were debating whether or not the American colonies should declare independence from Great Britain.

During this unprecedented time of uncertainty, change, and new beginnings, Abigail implored her husband to “remember the ladies” and to build a more fair government with them in mind. 

In this show, a few of Utah’s most distinguished women artists remember and celebrate women–their autonomy and agency; their power and influence; their contributions to family, community, and society; their humanity and dignity.
