Artist Statement: In Luke 23:28, Jesus said, “Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me,” as His mission was almost done. Yet there would be calamities to endure in the coming days and years, for He said continued saying, “weep for yourselves, and for your children.” Nevertheless, He would soon atone for all and conquer death.
Artist Biography: Rose Datoc Dall is an award winning artist known for her bold colors and graphic compositions. Rose, is of Filipino heritage but born in DC, and raised in Northern Virginia . She received her BFA in Fine Art Studio and Art History from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. Rose’s most iconic pieces are sacred works on the life of the Savior. Her works can be found in the permanent collections of the Church History Museum, the Springville Museum, Brigham Young University & Southern Virginia University; in Temples, Church Meetinghouses, Church Office Buildings; and in Church Magazines, and various books and publications. Rose was featured in Season 3 of Artful on BYUTV. Rose is a wife and mother of 4 adult children, and grandmother or “Lola” to 5 grandchildren.
