Artist Statement: I often think of goddess mother figures, such as Heavenly Mother, Eve Mother of all living, Mother Earth, Mother Nature, and Gaia. All have ties to beauty, nature, and creation. Mothers are often associated with the nurturing side of creation, but I feel there is also an inherent power in creating, a force that cannot be ignored.
Artist Bio: Anita graduated from the University of Utah in 1996 with BFA in Studio Art. Anita is both a painter and a photographer and enjoys exploring different mediums in her artwork. In addition to her work being featured in a multitude of galleries and publications, she has also taught art through continuing education classes, an alternative high school drawing class in Box Elder County, and as an alternative photography processes substitute at Salt Lake Community College. She was also the photography program director for CLASS Art School. She has received multiple awards throughout her career, including an Honorable Mention in 2023 for the Workshop13 exhibit RED, an Award of Merit in 2022 from the Utah Women Artists Exhibit, Best of Show in 2020 at the Box Elder Museum Photography group exhibit. She lives in Springville, Utah with her husband.
