Artist: Garrett Olsen
Titles:
The Watcher (Oil on museum board)
Self portrait on a card (Oil on paper)
About: I've often enjoyed unusual color combinations, so sometimes I like to experiment by closing my eyes and randomly grabbing two pigments to try and make it work. I've found some pairings that I've continued to use based on these experiments, and this self-portrait--painted with Alizarin Crimson and Payne's Gray, plus white--is one of them.
What we can't see (Oil on paper)
About: Aspen trees are a constant source of inspiration to me, both as a native species to Utah's mountains, and as a symbol of connection. Plus, they're pretty.
Red (Oil on museum board)
Raven (Oil on museum board)
Alone (Oil on museum board)
