Titles:

"Unfinished Creation" (Oil and acrylic on wood)

About: "God left us the world unfinished... that man might know the joys and glories of creation." - Thomas S. Monson

“Embrace” (Oil and acrylic on wood)

About: When I think about 'home', I think of the color green. There's something so comforting about being surrounded by trees... It's like the Universe's way of embracing you– letting you know that there is space for you and your dreams in this vast existence.

“Her Secret is Patience” (Oil and acrylic on wood)

About: I recently discovered a magical, little waterfall near my home, tucked high up in the wood-covered mountains. This place captured me with its rustling leaves and dancing waters. I stood there for awhile watching the stream rush and trip over rocks of all sizes, letting a sweet contentment fill me as I thought of my 'place in all this'. And a quote came to mind by Ralph Waldo Emerson:

"Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience."

“Celestial Day (small)” (Oil and acrylic on wood)

About: "Come, ye children of the Lord, Let us sing with one accord. Let us raise a joyful strain To our Lord who soon will reign On this earth when it shall be Cleansed from all iniquity, When all men from sin will cease, And will live in love and peace."

This hymn by James H. Wallis resonates strongly with me. Our world is increasingly chaotic, wearisome, and perhaps even broken... but we know there is peace and steadiness to be had in Christ.

Wallis' words perfectly capture my hopes for that celestial day when all mankind will be united in devotion– devotion to one another, devotion to doing what is good + right, and devotion to the God that gave us life. As Wallis' hymn continues, "we will dwell 'mid truth and light", "love and beauty", singing "the songs of praise".

“True Belonging” (Metal leaf, oil and acrylic on wood)

About: "True belonging is the spiritual practice of believing in and belonging to yourself so deeply that you can share your most authentic self with the world and find sacredness in both being a part of something and standing alone in the wilderness."      - Brené Brown

“Psalm of Sunlight” (Metal pigment, oil and acrylic on wood)

About: "Sounds among the vales and hills, In the woods and by the rills, Of the breeze and of the bird, By the gentle murmur stirred— Sacred songs, beneath, above, Have one chorus: God is love." - Thomas R. Taylor

“Eternal Reflections” (Metal pigment, oil and acrylic on wood)

About: "I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night." - Sarah Williams
