Artist Bio: In my work I explore the theme of fat liberation and seek to challenge the prevailing narrative around fat bodies. Society often stigmatizes and marginalizes fat individuals, perpetuating harmful stereotypes and promoting unrealistic beauty standards. Through my art, I aim to disrupt these damaging narratives and celebrate the beauty, resilience, and diversity of fat bodies. My work is deeply personal, drawing from my own experiences as a fat person navigating a world that too often seeks to diminish my worth based on my size. I use a variety of mediums, including painting, sculpture, and performance, to express the complexity of these experiences and to reclaim the narrative around fatness. By depicting fat bodies in bold and unapologetic ways, I invite viewers to question their own biases and reconsider how they perceive and interact with fat individuals. I seek to create a space where fatness is not only accepted but celebrated, where fat bodies are seen as valid and valuable.
