Artist Bio: I began my art journey when I was very young. I felt the need to create for as far back as I can remember. As I grew older I didn't feel satisfied with my knowledge of painting and didn't understand the techniques. I just painted what I saw. When I was older I took art classes at the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art in Augusta, GA, along with workshops to guide me into shaping my career in the art world today.
Along this path I discovered sculpting and for more than 10 years I immersed myself in mastering sculpting figures. I sculpted them by hand, painted their faces, gave them wigs, and dressed them myself. All my little figures represented fairytales and folklore. I was featured in many magazines around the world and invited to show my art in the Magnum Opus Art Figure show in New York City.
Eventually my heart turned back to oil painting and I laid the clay aside. I am still creating the Fairytale Folklore tales in mind with my art, just in a different format. Every painting I paint tells a story and isn't just a pretty picture. Sometimes the story comes to me before I begin and sometimes it evolves as I paint. There are always little surprises at the end.
