Titles:

She's A Rainbow:

"She comes in colors everywhere, she combs her hair, she's like a rainbow..." - The Rolling Stones This series of paintings is meant to illustrate "The Creative's Journey" an incarnation of "The Hero's Journey" in which an artist answers the call to persues her creative dream or create her masterpiece. She encounters trials such as self doubt, inner demons and things just not working out for different reasons but ultimately finds that through sharing love, friendship, community and creativity with others she is able to find success in both uplifting others and creating the things in her heart. In this first piece we are introduced to the heroine as she begins a project.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow:

"Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue, and the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true." - Judy Garland This piece represents the call to action, the invitation to "follow your dreams"

I'm Always Chasing Rainbow:

"At the end of the rainbow there's happiness and to find it how often I've tried..." - Alice Cooper In this piece the clouds start to gather, self doubt and other obstacles begin to creep in. Pursuing the dream starts to feel futile. Will things ever work out?

Rainbow in the Dark:

"There's no sign of the morning coming, you've been left on your own, like a rainbow in the dark. You're just a rainbow in the Dark" - Dio Sometimes following a dream or doing something you feel is right is lonely. Sometimes it feels like you are surrounded by darkness - and sometimes you have to be your own light, like a rainbow in the dark.

Different Colors:

"We're different colors - We carry each other" - Walk the Moon Even though its easy to feel alone we rarely are truly alone. Reach out for help. There are people who care. All of us are different and different gifts. We all need eachother in order to succeed. In this piece the storm clouds start to recede and another home is found on the path symbolizing finding a friend.

What a Wonderful World:

"The colors of the rainbow so pretty in the sky are also on the faces of people passing by..." - Louis Armstrong Through sharing love, friendship and our gifts with a community we can all be uplifted. Being an artist takes a village. I make art mostly on my own but I need help and support from family and friends to make time to create and to be able to fight the inner demons. My art feels most fulfilling and complete when I am able to share it with others. If all of us share our light with each other I beleive the world really will be made better. In this piece the multi colored homes represent finding the proverbial "village" and the skies return to a peacful view.

Rainbow:

"Well I woke up this morning, rainbow filled the sky, that was God telling me everything's gonna be alright" - G love and Jack Johnson For me a rainbow has always been a sign that things will be ok. Keep going. Keep on creating, keep on following your dream, keep on sharing your light - the journey is full of hard things but it is full of beautiful moments and joy as well. Rainbows can only exist when there is both sunshine and rain. We need all the experiences.
