About the Collection: This collection is an exploration on the ability that different locations have to teach us lessons, deeply touch our hearts, and change the course of our lives. The scenes I depicted are four of these such places—places significant to me.

Titles:

Ecuadorian Countryside

About: “Ecuadorian Countryside” represents service. When I was 13 I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Ecuador to do humanitarian work. That experience was humbling and taught me how powerful service can be. The great joy I felt by turning outward and thinking of others has stuck with me and has helped me to find happiness and purpose. Ecuador will forever remind me that I can make an impact by caring for others.

Uinta Mountains

About: “Uinta Mountains” represents peace and reflection. All throughout my life, these mountains have been my family’s go-to camping location. I’ve spent many hours there enjoying nature and disentangling from distractions. These mountains feel holy to me because I know I can always return there when I need to reconnect with myself and find calm.

Croatian Streets

About: “Croatian Streets” represents heritage and history. I’ve never even been to Croatia and yet that country made me who I am. Knowing the sacrifices that my Croatian ancestors made in order to make a better life for their posterity has inspired a reverence in me for a country that I’ve never visited.

Pacific Coast Highway

About: “Pacific Coast Highway” represents my family and our trips together. My parents were very good at making sure their kids experienced the world and made memories together. The pacific coast especially reminds me of our many family trips and the way they strengthened our relationships and helped to expand our horizons.
