Artist Statement: As a painter and interdisciplinary artist, my work centers on exploring femininity and framing my work to help share specific narratives. I approach these themes through intimate, focused compositions that invite a closer connection between the viewer and the subject. I work with a strict color palette that leads to arbitrary hues. The visual aesthetics play a critical role in understanding the emotion of the piece.
Artist Bio: Megan Bentley Atwood is a Provo-based artist. She received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Practice from Brigham Young University. She works in oil paint and other interdisciplinary practices. She has shown her work in the Weight Room Gallery at BYU (Provo, Utah) for solo shows and has been published in “A Woman's Experience” 2024 issue. She is currently participating in a residency at Border and Square (Provo, UT) and is anticipating a solo show in January 2026.
