Artist Statement: Mini Botanicals: Dwarf Bear Claw Poppy- A glimpse at an Endangered Utah native plant
Artist Biography: Rose Torres is a Botanical artist based in Salt Lake, Utah. She uses watercolor on paper or vellum, graphite and silverpoint. She has spent much of her life exploring and learning about the mountains, deserts, and wildflowers. Rose is a Master Gardener, steward over 40 acres of mountain land, and Mother to 6 children. She graduated from the Society of Botanical Artists Diploma Course, with Distinction, in 2023, and was invited to be an SBA Fellow the same year. Rose is passionate about and seeks to bring attention to the unique plants that call Utah home, particularly the threatened and endangered plants that need public awareness to conserve their habitat.
