About the Artwork: Shelf Life is an ongoing series of hand-cut collages that explores the imaginary lives of inanimate objects—especially food items cut from vintage magazines. Think Toy Story, but the setting is your pantry, desk drawer, and other home storage.
About the Artist: Curiosity and imagination are at the heart of my art practice. My work revolves around a deep-rooted love of fairytales and fantasy, and attempts to capture the expectancy and wonder of stepping into a story. Meticulously hand-cut, intuitively arranged collages invite escapism through the realm of daydreams, bizarre stories, and childhood interests. I recently earned my BFA in Studio Arts at BYU and currently live in Idaho with my husband and cats. I love reading, music, animated movies, and nature documentaries.
