Artist Statement: Life has a way of weathering us. Worry, grief, exhaustion, and uncertainty can leave us hardened by the seasons we endure. The tree peony reflects this journey. Through years of harsh winters, its branches become rugged and twisted. Yet when spring arrives, it offers something unexpected—blossoms of remarkable tenderness and beauty. There is something sacred in that offering. The tree does not allow the hardships it has endured to define what it gives to the world. Instead, it chooses gentleness. It chooses beauty.
