Artist Statement: This piece explores what might happen if we start to pull on the loose thread of whatever beliefs we have that are keeping us comfortable. Will we find that the construction is sturdy, or will the whole thing start to unravel? If it all comes apart, what beautiful new thing might we create from our pile of yarn?
Artist Bio: Based in San Antonio, TX, Berkeley finds inspiration in the rhythm and emotion of language. Often drawing inspiration from song lyrics, poetry, and the power of words to spark vivid imagery, her work transforms written expression into visual art. When not creating, Berkeley spends time at home with her four puppies, makes music with her sister and niece, and teaches Portuguese language classes.
