Artist Statement:
I descend
Into the canal
The space is tight Restricting
There is no light
There is no breath
But I can't turn back
The womb has no more room for expansion
No more room for growth
I have to pass through
If I want to continue
If I want to bloom
I can see the dim light
Becoming more bright
I can hear
Her voice
Calling me from the other side
Singing
Screaming
Crying
For me
To come into
Her arms
To come into
Her nourishment
I come to
Her veil
The last thing that shields
Her from me
Made of blues and purples,
Dripping in crimson
Woven from the holy linen of earth,
The home she rose from
Together we part it
Both anxious to meet
Who's on the other side of it
Finally I pass and gasp
A world full of air
I've never been allowed to breathe
Washes over me Filling me up
Giving me life
She cries for me again
Pulling me to
Her chest
Becoming one once more
I feel her warmth
Encasing my skin
My new womb
I hear her love
Pulsing through every inch of her body
I smell her scent
Familiar and sweet
She smells like home to me
The holiest of holies
