Artist Statement: Emma believes strongly in the idea of “play”. She has been trying to perfect this art for forty years now, but finds that her children are better at it than she is. She refers to her own childhood and the fond memories she had playing and discovering the world around her. She encourages all to participate.
Artist Bio: Emma Taylor was raised in Pleasant Grove, Utah and earned a B.A. in Art from Brigham Young University. She continues to learn and develop her figurative art skills and works primarily with oil paint. Emma believes that despite our differences as people, there are common narratives and themes that we share. She works to capture human interaction, emotion, and social connections. Her painting compositions are simple in nature, with bright, bold colors and patterns. Inspiration comes from everyday life, nature, and her work as a wife and mom to five children. She lives in Eagle, Idaho.
