Artist Statement: One of my favorite things is going up into the mountains and seeing all the beautiful colors that you can find.
Artist Bio: After graduating from college in art over 25 years ago, Cortney Lunt became a full-time mom (eventually having 4 kids) and a very part-time artist. Family has always been and will always be her main priority, but she is finding much more time for her art as her family grows up. She loves painting a variety of subject matter, but her overall theme is remembering that it’s important to take time to appreciate and enjoy the simple joys in life. For many years she painted mostly with watercolors before eventually transitioning into oil painting. In 2020 she started taking workshops from artists she admires, and for the last several years she has been working hard to improve her skills. The best thing for her has been developing the habit of regularly painting from real-life observation. She has found that the more she learns, the more she realizes she doesn’t know, and she loves it all. Recent rewards for her efforts have included acceptance into national shows with the Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, and National Oil and Acrylic Painters Society. She loves sharing the joy that art brings her with others.
